Changing your phone and need a new eSIM?

If you’re switching phones, moving from a physical SIM to an eSIM, or accidentally activated on the wrong device (it happens!), the SmartLess Mobile team can help. To keep your account secure, only the account Admin can request a new eSIM, and all eSIM swaps are handled by the SmartLess Mobile team 

When you might need a new eSIM 

You’ll need a new eSIM if: 

  • You’re switching from a physical SIM to an eSIM 

  • You’re moving from one eSIM phone to another  

  • Activated your eSIM on the wrong device  

  • You deleted your eSIM profile accidentally 

What you’ll need 

Before requesting a new eSIM, make sure you have: 

  • A device that supports eSIM 

  • WiFi connection 

  • Any old and inactive SIMs/eSIMs removed 

  • Your SmartLess Mobile login info (username/password) 

  • SmartLess Mobile account PIN 

  • A second device (computer, tablet, or phone) if using the QR code method  

What to expect during the eSIM swap 

Service interruption: Your current SIM or eSIM will stop working once the swap is submitted. Your line remains offline until the new eSIM is installed. 

Authentication: The account admin will need to verify their identity before the swap can proceed.

Device compatibility: Most newer iPhones and Android devices support eSIM. Check using the device compatibility checker.

 


How to obtain a new eSIM 

If you already have an active SmartLess Mobile plan: 

  1. Check your device compatibility using the device compatibility checker 

  1. Contact the SmartLess Mobile team and explain your situation (new device, switching from a physical SIM, activated on the wrong phone, etc.)

Important notes: 

  • A new eSIM replaces your old one — only one eSIM can be active per line  

  • Your previous eSIM will be deactivated once a new one is issued 

  • Ensure your new device is ready before starting installation 

  • We’ll guide you through the steps and provide a new eSIM if eligible  

How to complete your eSIM installation 

After your eSIM swap is processed: 

  1. Log in to the SmartLess Mobile app or MyAccount 

  1. Enter your account email and password to log in 

  1. Complete the verification step 

  1. Look for the Start eSIM Installation notification on your dashboard 

  1. Follow the on-screen instructions to install your eSIM
