5G with SmartLess Mobile

What is 5G, anyway?

Think of 5G as the next generation of mobile networks. It’s built to be faster and more responsive, with the power to handle more devices at once. That means less buffering, smoother gameplay, and more reliable service—even in busy areas.  

Just keep in mind: your 5G connection and data speeds depend on your device, your plan, and the 5G coverage in your area.

How to enable 5G 

iPhone (iPhone 12 or newer) 

  1. Check coverage – Use our coverage map to confirm you’re in a 5G area 

  1. Update iOS – Go to Settings > General > Software Update 

  1. Turn on 5G – Go to Settings > Cellular > Tap on your SmartLess Mobile number> Voice & Data

  1. Choose 5G Auto (recommended for saving battery) or 5G On (always uses 5G when available) 

  1. Look for the 5G icon – It’ll appear in your status bar when connected 

Android setup

  1. Check coverage – Use the coverage map 

  1. Update software – Go to Settings > Software Update or search "Software Update" in your Settings menu. 

  1. Enable 5G – Go to Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs >Tap on your SmartLess Mobile number> Preferred Network Type, then choose 5G. 

  2. Look for the 5G icon in the status bar 

Troubleshooting tips

Still not seeing that 5G icon? Try this:  

  • Restart your phone – Sometimes the old “turn it off and on again” works wonders – best trick in the book!

  • Double-check your coverage – You’ll only see 5G in supported areas.
