5G with SmartLess Mobile

SmartLess Mobile gives you access to America’s largest 5G network. If your device supports 5G and you’re in a covered area, you can enable it in your device settings to enjoy faster speeds, smoother streaming, and better performance for gaming and everyday use. 

Your 5G experience may vary based on your device, plan, and location. 

What you’ll need 

  • A 5G-capable device 

  • SmartLess Mobile service 

  • 5G coverage in your area 

How to enable 5G  

Using iPhone (iPhone 12 or newer)

Please note that 5G is not available on iPhone 11 and earlier devices. 

  1. Check that you’re in a 5G coverage area using the coverage map 

  1. Open Settings 

  1. Select Cellular 

  1. Tap your SmartLess Mobile line 

  1. Select Cellular Data Options  

  1. Tap Voice & Data 

  1. Choose one of the following options: 

    • 5G Auto for better battery performance 

    • 5G On to always use 5G when available 

  2. Look for the 5G icon in the status bar to confirm your connection 

Using Android (steps may vary by device and Android version)

  1. Check that you’re in a 5G coverage area using the coverage map 

  1. Open Settings 

  1. Select Network & Internet (or Connections on some devices) 

  1. Tap SIMs or Mobile Networks 

  1. Select your SmartLess Mobile line 

  1. Tap Preferred network type 

  1. Choose 5G 

  1. Look for the 5G icon in the status bar to confirm your connection 

Troubleshooting tips️ 

If you don’t see the 5G icon: 

  • Restart your phone 

  • Double-check that you’re in a 5G coverage area 

  • Confirm that your device is 5G-capable.  

  • Confirm your device software is up to date
