WiFi Calling outside the US
If you’re traveling outside the U.S., WiFi Calling is a great way to stay connected. With SmartLess Mobile, your phone acts like it’s still in the U.S.—as long as you’re connected to WiFi.
Calling U.S. numbers over WiFi
When you're abroad and connected to WiFi, calls you make to U.S. numbers are treated the same as if you were calling from within the U.S. That means:
-
No international charges apply
-
Your unlimited domestic calling still works
It’s just like being at home—even when you’re not.
Calling local (non-U.S.) numbers over WiFi
If you’re abroad and use WiFi Calling to dial a local number in the country you’re visiting (e.g., an Italian number while in Italy), international calling rates will apply. These are the same rates you’d pay if you made the call from the U.S.
Before making international calls, check SmartLess Mobile’s international calling destinations. Calling to 200+ countries is included with your plan.
Important Considerations
To make sure WiFi Calling works properly while you're traveling, keep these tips in mind:
-
Make sure WiFi Calling is enabled
Double-check your settings before you leave. Your phone should show the WiFi Calling icon in the status bar when it's active.
-
Use Airplane Mode + WiFi
To prevent your phone from switching to a local cellular network, turn on Airplane Mode, then manually re-enable WiFi. This ensures your calls go over WiFi only.
-
Keep your E911 address updated
This is required so emergency services can locate you if you make a 911 call using WiFi.
WiFi Calling helps you stay in touch and avoid roaming charges—just make sure you’re connected to a strong, reliable network.
