WiFi Calling

WiFi Calling lets you make and receive calls using a WiFi network instead of a cellular signal. It’s helpful in places where cell service may be weak, like basements, rural areas, or buildings with thick walls.

Once WiFi Calling is enabled, your phone will automatically use WiFi for calls when it’s available.

What you’ll need

To use WiFi Calling, make sure you have:

  • A strong WiFi connection

  • A compatible phone

  • WiFi Calling turned on in your phone’s settings

Emergency 911 and WiFi calling

When you use WiFi Calling to dial 911, your call is routed using the Emergency 911 (E911) address on your account. This helps emergency services know where to send help if needed.

Because WiFi Calling relies on this address instead of your phone’s GPS or cellular network, it’s important that the address on file matches the location where you’re using WiFi Calling

If you move or start using WiFi Calling from a new location, make sure to update your E911 address in MyAccount so emergency services can locate you accurately.
