Voicemail
Voicemail lets callers leave you a message when you can’t answer. You can listen to messages, manage your greeting, and update your settings directly from your phone.
Set up Voicemail
The first time you access Voicemail, you’ll be guided through a short setup. Every new SmartLess Mobile line will need to setup and personalize their Voicemail.
You’ll be asked to:

Create a 4 to 9-digit Voicemail PIN

Record your name

Record a personal greeting
If you’re using an iPhone, you can also set up your Voicemail PIN and greeting directly from the Voicemail tab in the Phone app.

Check your Voicemail
From your SmartLess Mobile phone

Press and hold the “1” key on your phone

Follow the Voicemail menu to listen to, save, or delete messages
From another phone
You can check your Voicemail from another phone using your Voicemail PIN

Call your SmartLess Mobile number
-
Let the call go to Voicemail
-
When your greeting starts, press the " * " (star) key

Enter your Voicemail PIN when prompted

Follow the menu options to listen to your messages
If calls aren’t going to voicemail
If you’ve previously changed your Call Forwarding settings – such as forwarding calls to another number, you may need to update them so missed calls go back to Voicemail
To forward calls to Voicemail, use the Voicemail deposit number: 1-805-637-7243 (fun fact: that spells 1-805-MESSAGE).
To quickly reset all your Call Forwarding settings back to the default (Voicemail), just dial ##004# on your phone. For more information, see Call Forwading
Using Voicemail while traveling
When traveling and roaming on another network, checking Voicemail is treated as a call

You’ll need a Travel Pass with calling minutes to check voicemail

Visual Voicemail also requires data
If your phone is on and an incoming call goes to voicemail, it may count as a one-minute call
If your phone is off, the call won’t be counted until you turn your phone back on
Mailbox capacity
Message Capacity: Store up to 45 messages
Message Length: Each message can be up to 180 seconds
Storage Duration: Messages are stored for up to 60 days
Manage your Voicemail PIN
You’ll choose a 4 to 9-digit voicemail PIN during setup

Your PIN isn’t required when checking voicemail from your own phone

Your PIN is required when checking voicemail from another number to keep your messages secure
Forgot your voicemail PIN
You can reset your PIN at any time.
On iPhone

Go to Settings
-
Select Apps
-
Tap Phone
-
Tap Change Voicemail Password

Enter and confirm your new PIN
Android, or alternate iPhone method

Press and hold “1” to access Voicemail

Follow the menu options to change your Voicemail PIN
OR

Dial #793# from your SmartLess Mobile Phone app

You’ll receive an SMS with your new Voicemail PIN
