BRB (Be Right Back)

The BRB (Be Right Back) plan lets you pause your SmartLess Mobile service while keeping your phone number active. It’s perfect for times when you don’t need full service but want to hold onto your number for future use. 

What you’ll need 

Before submitting a BRB request, make sure you have: 

  • Account Admin status 

  • Your SmartLess Mobile account info (email or phone number) 

What is the BRB (Be Right Back) plan? 

The BRB plan temporarily “freezes” your service without closing your account or deleting your number. While on BRB, calling, texting, and mobile data are paused, but your number remains safe and waiting for you. 

Why use BRB (Be Right Back)

  • Traveling abroad and don’t need U.S. service 

  • Using a secondary device temporarily 

  • Managing budget or expenses 

  • Want to keep their number while not actively using their plan 

Eligibility and rules 

To switch to BRB (Be Right Back): 

  • Your account must be active and in good standing (not suspended or in grace) 

  • BRB takes effect at the start of your next billing cycle 

  • You must remain on BRB for at least one full billing cycle 

  • You can stay on BRB for up to 6 months 

  • A line can move to BRB twice within a 12-month period 

  • If your plan is discontinued while on BRB, you’ll select a new in-market plan when reactivating 

What works (and doesn’t) while on BRB 

While your line is frozen, here’s what you can and can’t do: 

Available while on BRB 

  • Emergency calling (911) 

  • Access to the SmartLess Mobile app and website 

  • Calling the SmartLess Mobile Team 

Unavailable while on BRB 

  • Calls 

  • Text messages 

  • Mobile data 

  • Voicemail  


How to switch to the BRB plan 

Only an Admin can switch a line to BRB. Members must have an Admin do it for them. Learn more about Admin and Member roles: Account roles Admins and Members 

From the SmartLess Mobile App

  1. Open the SmartLess Mobile app 

  1. Enter your account email and password to log in 

  1. Complete the verification step 

  1. Tap More and select Manage plan 

  1. Tap Plan admin 

  1. Select BRB (Be Right Back) 

  1. Review the details and tap Continue 

  1. Confirm by clicking Confirm on the BRB screen 

  1. Your dashboard will show This line will BRB 

 

MyAccount

  1. Go to MyAccount in your browser 

  2. Enter your account email and password to log in 

  3. Complete the verification step 

  4. From the Dashboard select Manage plan 

  5. Select Plan admin 

  6. Choose BRB (Be Right Back) 

  7. Review details and click Continue 

  8. Confirm by clicking Confirm on the BRB screen 

  9. Your dashboard will show This line will BRB  


How to switch off BRB (Reactivate your line) 

When you’re ready to return, select a new in-market plan. Service will reactivate immediately. 

SmartLess Mobile App

  1. Open the SmartLess Mobile app 

  1. Enter your account email and password to log in 

  1. Complete the verification step 

  1. Open the app and tap More 

  1. Select Manage Plan 

  1. Tap Plan admin 

  1. Select BRB (Be Right Back) 

  1. Tap Disable BRB 

  1. Select a new in-market plan 

  1. Complete Order Review and submit 

 

MyAccount

  1. Go to MyAccount in your browser 

  1. Enter your account email and password to log in 

  1. Complete the verification step 

  1. On the dashboard 

  1. Select Manage plan 

  1. Tap Plan admin 

  1. Tap BRB (Be Right Back) 

  1. Click Disable BRB 

  1. Select a new in-market plan 

  1. Complete Order Review and submit 

Billing note: If you reactivate mid-cycle, partial charges will apply based on how many days remain in your current billing cycle. Full taxes and fees apply to the new plan.
