Troubleshooting your data

Stay connected with SmartLess Mobile! If your internet isn’t working as expected, follow these steps to get back online.

Step 1: Check your data settings

Make sure your cellular data is turned on and ready to go.

Using iPhone

  1. Open Settings

  1. Tap Cellular

  1. Make sure Cellular Data is toggled On

  1. Optional: Check per-app Cellular settings under:

  • Open Settings

  • Tap Apps

  • Select [App Name]

  • Tap Cellular Data

Using Android

  1. Open Settings

  2. Tap Network & Internet (or Connections)

  3. Select SIMs or SIM card manager

  4. Make sure Data is toggled On

Note: Steps may vary slightly depending on your Android device and software version. Use the Settings search bar if you don’t see these options.

Step 2: Restart your device

Sometimes a quick restart is all you need to refresh your connection. Power off your phone, wait a few seconds, and turn it back on.

Step 3: Reset your APN settings

Your APN (Access Point Name) settings help your phone connect to mobile data. Resetting restores SmartLess Mobile defaults without affecting WiFi or Bluetooth connections.

Using iPhone

  1. Open Settings

  2. Tap Cellular

  3. Tap Cellular Data Network

  4. Select Reset Settings

Using Android

  1. Open Settings

  2. Tap Network & Internet (or Connections)

  3. Tap Mobile Networks

  4. Select your SmartLess Mobile number

  5. Select Access Point Names

  6. Select Reset to default

Note: Steps may vary slightly depending on your Android device and software version. Use the Settings search bar if you don’t see these options.

Step 4: Check your plan

If your calls and texts are working but you still can’t access data, you may have used up your high-speed data for the month.

  1. Log in to MyAccount or open the SmartLess Mobile app

  1. Review your current usage

  2. If you’re out of data:

  • Add a one-time data add-on to stay connected right away

  • Consider upgrading your plan if this happens frequently

Step 5: Check your network mode

Sometimes your phone is connected, but it’s just using a slower connection. Make sure your device is set to connect to the fastest available network.

Using iPhone

  1. Open Settings

  1. Tap Cellular

  1. Tap Cellular Data Network

  1. Tap Voice & Data

  1. Choose 5G Auto (recommended) or 5G On

  1. Optional: Make sure VoLTE is enabled if available

Using Android

  1. Open Settings

  1. Tap Network & Internet (or Connections)

  1. Select your SmartLess Mobile number

  1. Select Preferred network type

  1. Select 5G

Note: Steps may vary slightly depending on your Android device and software version. Use the Settings search bar if you don’t see these options.

Step 6: Check for weak signal or network congestion

If your speed is still slow, you may be in an area with weaker coverage or high network usage, such as:

  • Concerts or sporting events

  • Busy public areas or rush hour

  • Remote locations

This usually resolves on its own once you’re in a better coverage area.
