Troubleshooting your network connection

If you’re having trouble connecting to the SmartLess Mobile network, a few quick checks can often get you back online fast.

Step 1: Check coverage and signal strength

Confirm you’re in an area with SmartLess Mobile coverage using our coverage map

Even in covered areas, signal strength can vary due to:

  • Tall buildings

  • Thick walls

  • Terrain or trees

  • Weather conditions

If possible, try moving to a different location or closer to a window and check if your connection improves.

Step 2: Restart your phone

A quick restart can resolve temporary glitches and refresh your network connection. Often, this alone fixes the issue.

Step 3: Make sure Automatic Network Selection is enabled

Your phone should be set to automatically select networks. This allows it to find and connect to the SmartLess Mobile network without manual input.

When automatic selection is on, your phone:

  • Connects to SmartLess Mobile when available

  • Switches to a preferred partner network when needed (such as while traveling)

Using iPhone

  1. Open Settings

  1. Tap Cellular

  1. Tap Network Selection

Using Android

  1. Open Settings

  1. Tap Network & Internet (or Connections

Note: Steps may vary slightly depending on your Android device and software version. Use the Settings search bar if you don’t see these options.

Step 4: Check your subscription and billing status

If none of your lines are connecting, your account status may be the cause.

  1. Log in to MyAccount or the SmartLess Mobile app

  1. Enter your account email and password

  1. Complete the verification step

  1. Go to Billing and payment information

  1. Confirm your payment method is active and up to date

If a payment method has expired, updating it will restore service once billing is resolved.
