How to remove an eSIM

Old and inactive eSIMs that you’re no longer using may cause issues when left installed on your phone.

If you have an old or inactive eSIM on your phone that you no longer need, you can safely remove it.

Steps to remove an eSIM

Before you remove an eSIM from your phone, it’s best to double-check which one you’re removing. If you transferred your phone number to SmartLess Mobile, your old SIM or eSIM may still appear in your phone’s settings, and it may even show the same phone number.

To make sure you remove the correct SIM/eSIM:

  • Look for the one labeled SmartLess Mobile (or the custom name you gave it)

  • Do not remove this one

Your old SIM or eSIM may:

  • Show your previous carrier’s name

  • Appear as “Unavailable”

  • Be greyed out

  • Be toggled off

If you’re unsure which one to remove, double-check the label before deleting anything to avoid accidentally disconnecting your SmartLess Mobile service.
