How to install and use dual SIM on SmartLess Mobile

Most newer phones that support eSIM also support dual SIM. That means with SmartLess Mobile, you can use two numbers on one phone. For example, you can have one personal line and one work line on your phone, or use separate lines for voice and data.

This article explains how to install your SIM cards and configure dual SIM settings on your iPhone or Android device.

Before you begin

Please remove any old and inactive eSIMs that you’re no longer using from your phone.

Inactive or leftover SIMs/eSIMs can interfere with network registration and may prevent your SmartLess Mobile service from working correctly. This most commonly happens when moving from one provider to another, and both the old and new SIMs/eSIMs are still installed in the phone.

If you need help removing a SIM card, follow our step-by-step guide: SIM card

If you need help removing an eSIM profile, follow this guide: eSIM

To ensure your device is fully compatible with SmartLess Mobile, check your phone using our Device compatibility checker.

How dual SIM works

When using multiple SIMs:

  • You can make and receive calls and texts from either number

  • You choose which SIM/eSIM is used for mobile data

  • You can assign a default line for calls, texts, and data

  • You can change your default settings at any time
  • Each line can be labeled (for example: Personal or work)

  • Most newer eSIM-capable phones can store more than two numbers, but only two numbers can be active together at the same time

Activate your service first

Before installing your SIM or eSIM, make sure your SmartLess Mobile plan is activated.
