Bring your own phone

Good news—you can bring your own phone to SmartLess Mobile. 

We’re a bring-your-own-phone brand, which means we don’t currently sell phones. If you already have a device and just want a smarter, more flexible mobile plan, you’re in the right place. 

What you’ll need 

  • An unlocked phone (not tied to another carrier) 

  • WiFi or mobile data connection 

  • A SmartLess Mobile SIM or eSIM 

  • Your MyAccount login info 

Step 1: Check your phone 

Your phone needs to be unlocked and compatible. If you own your phone outright, it’s probably already unlocked. If you’re not sure, contact your current carrier to confirm. 

You can use our device compatibility tool make sure that your phone will work with our network. 

Tip: Phones made for the U.S. or North America work best. Their international counterparts might not have the right specs to deliver the best experience on our network. 

Step 2: Get your SIM or eSIM 

Once you’ve picked a plan, you have two options: 

  • Physical SIM:  We’ll ship it to you for free 

  • eSIM: If your device supports it, you can be up and running in minutes   

Important:  Keep your old SIM in your phone until we confirm your transfer is complete. You might need to reply to a “Are you sure?” text from your old carrier. 

Step 3: Activate and go 

After you get your SIM or eSIM: 

  1. Log in to MyAccount or open the SmartLess Mobile app

  1. Follow the quick activation steps. 

  1. Restart your phone — and you’re good to go! 

Don’t have a phone yet? 

No problem. You can purchase an unlocked phone from: 

  • Online retailers 

  • Local stores 

  • Refurbished phone shops 

Once you’ve secured your phone and are ready to make the switch to SmartLess Mobile, we’ll handle the rest!
