Carrier info for transferring your number (A-Z list)

Keeping your number should be simple, so we’ve put together a list of carriers along with their porting requirements (the things you need to bring your number with you to SmartLess Mobile) to help you through the process.

The Fine Print: We do our best to keep this list updated, but carrier requirements can change at any time, and they don’t always let us know. If your current carrier isn’t listed or if you’re unsure about the information, we recommend reaching out to them directly.

A

AirVoice
  • Account number - This is the 20-digit AirVoice SIM Card Number
  • PIN –The default PIN is the last four digits of your phone number.

AT&T 

Postpaid:

  • Account number: 9- or 12-digit number from your bill or myAT&T Profile.
  • PIN:  6-digit port-out PIN.

Obtaining a porting PIN:

  • Via Phone: Call *PORT from your AT&T mobile device. Follow prompts to get your PIN via text (account passcode required).

Online (myAT&T):

  • Open the myAT&T app > "Manage profiles" > "Transfer phone number" > "Request a new PIN."
  • Sign in to myAT&T on a browser > "People & Permissions" > "Transfer phone number" > "Request a new PIN."

Prepaid:

  • Account number: Call 1-800-901-9878 or 611 from your AT&T phone.
  • PIN: AT&T Prepaid account PIN, which is also the number transfer PIN

Additional Info:

  • Don't disconnect service until porting is complete. AT&T will send a confirmation text; reply to release the number.
  • AT&T employees can't generate a porting PIN for you.
  • For issues, contact the AT&T Port Center at 888-898-7685.

  • Account number: You can find this on your invoice.
  • PIN: You'll need your account PIN.
  • ZIP Code: For prepaid accounts, the ZIP code is centralized. Please contact our Member Services to get it.

If you're having trouble releasing your number for porting, don't worry! Reach out to the Cellcom Port Center at 800-236-0055 for assistance.

Credo Mobile
  • Account number: You can find this in three places: on the 1st page of your monthly bill, in Member Services (top right-hand corner), or by texting ACCOUNT to 27336.
  • PIN number: For assistance, contact CREDO at 800-411-0848.
Cricket
  • Account number: Sign into your myCricket App to find your account number.
  • PIN number: Dial *PORT (*7678) from your Cricket Wireless Phone to get your number transfer PIN.

C-Spire / Cellular South
  • Account number: This is not your phone number. You can find it on your account details.
  • PIN/Password: You will need your account PIN or password.
  • ZIP Code: The ZIP code associated with your account is required.

Consumer Cellular

  • Account number: You can find it in the upper right corner of your invoice or on the profile page in My Account.
  • PIN number: For assistance, contact Consumer Cellular at 888-345-5509.
Cox Mobile
  • Account number: Found on the Cox account page or bill.
  • PIN number: Set up during account creation or reset in the settings.

CenturyLink

  • Account number: You can find it in the upper right-hand corner of your CenturyLink bill. It's the phone number plus 3 digits. You can also log in on the website, where it’s displayed in the upper right-hand corner of every page. 
  • PIN number: The PIN is 0000

Log in at my.freedompop.com then visit my.freedompop.com/settings/port-out-info or click on Manage Settings. Then click on Port Out Info.

Frontier
  • Account number: Sign in to “My Account” and select “My Profile.” Your 17-digit account number will be in the “Account Information” tile. On your paper bill, it’s located at the top left under Account Summary.
  • PIN number: To request your number transfer PIN, contact Frontier at 1-800-921-8106.

Google Project Fi

  • Account number
  • PIN number

After logging into your Google Fi account, go to “Manage plan,” then select “Leave Google Fi.” Or, contact Google Fi at 844-825-5234.

Google Voice

  • Account number: Your 10-digit phone number. Before porting, you must unlock your number. On your computer, open Google Voice, click Settings in the top right, then go to the Account section. Under the Google Voice number you want to port, click Unlock and complete the payment with your Google Account.
  • PIN number: It’s the same PIN you use to access your Google Voice voicemail.

Additional Information: Unlocking your Google Voice number costs $3 USD. However, if your number was originally ported from another carrier, there’s no charge.

Go Smart Mobile

  • Account number: Your 10-digit GoSmart Mobile phone number.
  • PIN number: It’s the same PIN you use when contacting GoSmart Mobile. To set one up, call 611 from your GoSmart Mobile phone, say “No” to “refill,” select “Manage my account,” and then choose “change my account PIN.”

  • Account number: You’ll need to contact 1-800-643-4926 to obtain permission.
  • PIN number: The PIN is the last 4 digits of your SIM’s ICCID, which can usually be found printed on the back of the SIM card, or you can find it in your phone settings under 'About Phone.'

Hello Mobile

  • Account number: Log into your Hello Mobile online account, and you’ll find it in the upper right-hand corner.
  • PIN number: The PIN is the last 4 digits of your Hello Mobile phone number.

Mint
  • Account number: Your 12-digit account number.
  • PIN number: The 4-digit PIN (default is the last 4 digits of your phone number).

Metro by T-Mobile
  • Account number: Your account number can also be found in payment confirmation texts and payment details on the Payments page.
  • PIN number: You can reset your PIN here: Metro by T-Mobile Sign In.

Net10
  • Account number: For CDMA phones, your account number is your phone’s IMEI. For GSM phones, it’s the last 15 digits of your Net10 SIM card.
  • PIN number: Use 0000 if there's a spot to add a PIN number. For assistance, contact NET10 at 877-836-2368.

Porting may take 3 to 7 business days, up to 10 business days, to complete. Ports are unlikely to finish within minutes or hours.

    • Log into your online NumberBarn account, go to “Numbers,” select the number you wish to port out, and then select “Port Out.”

Optimum Mobile

  • Account number: Your Optimum Mobile account number is visible at the top of the screen when you sign in to MyMobile. Alternatively, you can contact Optimum MyMobile at 833-449-8586.
  • PIN number: To request your Transfer PIN, contact an Optimum Mobile expert at 866-200-7186. Your PIN will be sent to you via email and text and is valid for 7 days. If you forget or lose your PIN, you can contact us again for a new one.

Spectrum / Charter

  • Account number: After logging into your Spectrum Mobile online account, go to the “Billing” tab, then “Billing Details,” and select “View Statements.” Open a statement to see your account number at the top.
  • PIN number: While logged into your Spectrum account, select “Services,” then select “Mobile.” Choose the line you want to transfer out, scroll down, and select “Transfer PIN.”

Sprint

Postpaid

  • Account number: At the top right side of the My Account page, next to the Sign Out button, your account number is displayed below the account nickname. Alternatively, contact Sprint at 1-800-937-8997 for assistance.
  • PIN number: After logging into your online Sprint account, go to “Profile & Settings.” For assistance, you can also contact Sprint at 1-800-937-8997.

Prepaid:

  • Account number: You can find it at the top-center of your Sprint Prepaid bill or in your Sprint Prepaid online account. Alternatively, contact Sprint Prepaid at 1-800-937-8997 for assistance.
  • PIN number: For assistance with your PIN number, contact Sprint Prepaid at 1-800-937-8997.

Straight Talk 

  • Account number: It’s your phone’s MEID or IMEI. If you're using a BYOP SIM card, it’s the last 15 digits of your SIM number. For assistance, contact Straight Talk at 877-430-2355.
  • PIN number: After logging into your Straight Talk My Account page, go to My Profile > Number Transfer PIN. Set up a PIN if this field is blank.

Telispire

  • Name – account Owner's first and last name
  • Address – the billing address on the account
  • Account number – this will begin with 12, 13, or 14 and is 8 digits long.
  • PIN

Tello

  • Account number.
  • PIN number
    • Go to Porting tab in your online account. Scroll down to the Port Out section and click Information. Click on the Retrieve Port Out Information button.

Text Now

  • Account number – phone number with a 1 at the beginning.
  • PIN – 4-digit number
  • Address

Ting

  • Account number
  • PIN number
    • After logging into your online Ting account, go to “Account Settings,” then “Port Out Information,” and select “Port out now.”
    • Or, contact Ting at 855-846-4389 for assistance.

Additional Information: Although you can transfer your number at any time in your billing cycle, if you plan on waiting until the end of your cycle, we recommend submitting your number transfer at least 48 hours before the end of your current cycle.

T-Mobile

Postpaid Service:

  • Account number: To locate your account number, go to the top center of the welcome screen after logging into your T-Mobile online account. Or, you can find it in the top right of the first page of any T-Mobile paper bill.
  • PIN number (Temporary Port Out PIN): You can generate a Temporary Port Out PIN either through your account on T-Mobile.com or the T-Mobile app.
  • T-Mobile App: Select Account > Profile Settings, choose Line Settings > Request a transfer PIN, and follow the directions on the screen.
  • T-Mobile.com: In the top right corner, select My Account or your name, choose Profile > Line Settings, select Request a transfer PIN > Get a transfer PIN, and follow the directions on the screen

T-Mobile Prepaid:

  • Account number: Contact T-Mobile Prepaid at 1-800-937-8997 for assistance.
  • PIN number: Contact T-Mobile Prepaid at 1-800-937-8997 for assistance.
Tello
  • Account number:
  • PIN number: Go to the Porting tab in your online account. Scroll down to the Port Out section and click Information. Click on the Retrieve Port Out Information button.

Total 

  • Account number: It’s your phone’s IMEI. You can find it on the settings menu of your phone or by dialing the *#06# prompt.
  • PIN number: It’s 0000
    • Or, Contact total wireless at 866-663-3633 for assistance.

Tracfone

  • Account number
    • If you bought your phone from Tracfone, it is your phone’s IMEI or MEID number.
    • If you brought your own device (BYOD), it is the last 15 digits of your SIM card number.
  • PIN number: Find it under your Tracfone account profile page.

Verizon Postpaid

Account number:
Disable number lock in Settings > Number Lock, then Save Changes.
Find your account number in My Verizon under Account or on your bill.
Need help? Call 800-837-4966.

In My Verizon (app or browser), go to My Profile > Number Transfer PIN > Generate PIN.
Or dial #PORT (#7678) from your Verizon phone.
To reset, visit vzw.com/PIN, sign in, and set a new PIN.

Verizon Prepaid 

Account number: Verizon Prepaid account number is found on the account bill.


PIN: 6-digit requested PIN
Access My Verizon.
Go to the number Transfer PIN page.
Select Generate PIN.
Alternatively, you can dial #PORT to request a porting PIN from your device.
