Getting Started with SmartLess Mobile

Whether you're shopping for a new mobile plan, thinking about ditching your old carrier, or already placed your order — this guide will walk you through everything from picking a plan to activating your service. Service must be activated while you're physically in the U.S. If you're currently in Canada, Mexico, or another country, you won’t be able to activate your SIM until you're back in the U.S.

Step 1: Pick a plan (or two) 

Add a plan to your cart, or grab extras for family and friends — we support multi-line accounts. Browse plans here.

Step 2: Choose your SIM type 

You’ve got two options: 

  • eSIM: Fastest setup, no shipping delays. Most newer phones support it, and some only have eSIM! 
  • Physical SIM: We’ll ship one to you if your phone isn’t eSIM-capable.

Step 3: Place your order

Once you’ve picked your plan and SIM type, check out and create your SmartLess Mobile login. We’ll send you a confirmation email with everything you need to activate once your eSIM is ready, or your SIM is on its way.

Step 4: Download the SmartLess Mobile app 

Trust us — the app is the move. 

You can: 

  • Activate your plan 
  • View usage and billing  
  • Manage Add-ons and Passes 
  • Upgrade your plan 

Ready? Just hit the App Store or Google Play icon below to get the app (or search “SmartLess Mobile”).

On a computer? Head to MyAccount. 

Step 5: Activate your plan 

Once your SIM kit arrives or you're ready to download and install your eSIM, log in to the SmartLess Mobile app or MyAccount. We’ll guide you through the steps based on your SIM type — just follow the prompts.

Step 6: Bring your number (or get a new one) 

We’ll walk you through this during activation. 

To transfer your number to SmartLess Mobile, you’ll need: 

  • Phone number – Must still be active  
  • Number transfer PIN – Sometimes called a “port-out PIN” (this usually different from your account PIN)  
  • Account number – Might be found on your bill or online account  
  • Address details – The one linked to your current account
