How to activate your SmartLess Mobile plan - eSIM
Activating your SmartLess Mobile line using an eSIM is fast and straightforward. Whether you’re getting a new number or transferring your existing one, follow the steps below to get connected.
What you’ll need

A device that supports eSIM

A WiFi connection during activation

Access to the SmartLess Mobile app or MyAccount in a web browser

Access to the email used to sign up
If you are transferring your number, you will also need:

Account number from your previous carrier

Transfer PIN
Step 1: Log in and start activation

Open the SmartLess Mobile app or go to MyAccount on your browser

Enter your email and password to log in
-
Enter the verification code sent to your email
-
Locate the Start Activation notification on your dashboard. If you don’t see it immediately, swipe right — sometimes the card is partially hidden off-screen
Step 2: Secure your account

Create a 6-digit Account PIN. This PIN will be used whenever you contact SmartLess Mobile Support.
Step 3: Enter your E911 address

Provide your E911 address for emergency services. This ensures emergency responders receive accurate location information.

Step 4: Choose how you want your number set up
At this stage, you’ll decide whether to transfer an existing number or receive a new one.
Option 1: Transfer your existing number

Select Transfer your number and follow the prompts outlined in the How to transfer a number guide

Once submitted:
- Wait for the transfer to complete

You’ll receive an email when it’s ready

Return to MyAccount to continue activation
Option 2: Get a new number

Select Get a new number
-
Enter your ZIP code to determine the area code

Choose your preferred area for your number

Your phone number will be assigned automatically based on your selection (specific numbers cannot be chosen)
If you chose a new number, you can continue immediately to the final activation step.
Step 5: Install your eSIM
If continuing from new number activation:

You may be prompted to install the eSIM automatically

We recommend using the QR code for installation

Ensure you scan the QR code using the camera of the device that you want your SmartLess Mobile line installed on

If returning after a number transfer:

Look for Start eSIM installation on your dashboard

Click the notification and follow instructions

Step 6: Confirm your activation

Make a test phone call

Send a text message

Use mobile data
If all three work, your SmartLess Mobile line is ready to go!
